This is the recipe that came with my mom's Cuisinart Softserve ice cream maker, but it's great with a regular ice cream maker too - if it's the small 1.5 qt variety, like mine.
1 c cream
2 c skim milk
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c brown sugar
2/3 c cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
Mix the sugars & cocoa together first; cocoa tends to be lumpy and needs to be mixed well with the sugars to break it up. Same goes for the brown sugar - be sure to smash all those lumps out. Add the cream and make sure it's mixed together well, no clumps, before adding the milk & vanilla. Put it in the fridge for a while, or the freezer for a shorter while, so that the mixture is nice and cold before putting it into your ice cream maker. Then simpy follow your ice cream maker's directions to freeze it.
